Last night was the award presentation for the BC Achievement Awards for Excellence In Craft. It took place at the Shaw Studios downtown and was full of notables from the BC art world AND our Premier, Gordon Campbell. That's him on the right. The dude on the left, who looks just like Ed McMahon, isn't actually.
Rachelle had been fretting about her acceptance speech for a couple of day previous although she wrote a great one and presented it beautifully. I captured it with my little point and shoot camera and sadly missed the first 5 seconds or so.
Eleven close friends and family came to support her and show the love. We got almost everyone in this photo, except Diane and Mary who live in Chilliwack and Marion and Alan who live in Langly. Both places are a fair drive from Vancouver and they left before the the picture was taken.
Congratulations Rachelle!

this is the first I've seen this page - great job Doug! It's actually the BC Creative Achievement Award for Applied Art and Design - way too long to say. But great to have!!
Fantasitc, Rachelle. It doesn't look like you purchased the pricey silk scarf for the occasion. You look georgeous enough as it is.
Awesome news Rachelle!! Congratulations!!!
