
OK, so it's not exactly toxic, but we ARE under a boil water advisory. Its been raining really hard over the last few days and all that water flowing into the reservoirs has them so churned up that there' s lots of sediment in the system.
Apparently the sediment makes it hard for the folks that look after the water works to guarantee the safety of the stuff. They've not found much extra bacteria or coliform, but they want everyone to boil it anyway.
Here's the BIG news, tho. Starbucks and Tim Hortons have stopped serving coffee because of the problem with the water supply. The machines don't actually boil the water for the required minute so they aren't taking the chance of poisoning someone. No coffee in Vancouver! I hear Mayor Sullivan is thinking of bringing in the army!
