Toxic Water Update

The breakup of the West Coast civilization is imminent as it is coming to fisticuffs in Costco over cases of bottled water. People are bathing their children in liters of water bought at a price exceeding that of gasoline.

Five days later and the water still looks like a mud puddle. Fortunately we've got a great back country water filter that we use for backpacking and kayaking. It's an arm actuated pump that forces water through a filter to get rid of bacteria, sediment, and various other gribblies.

After 5 days, the health board is still recommending that all drinking water be boiled. I'm not too concerned about the health aspects of the water, but man, does it ever taste like crap! Our filter turns the water clear and gets rid of both the clorine taste AND the mud flavour!
