This afternoon, Swede saw in hand, Rachelle and I met Patrick and Michael at the fire hall to bag us a tree for each of us. It was a drizzly day, but as you can see in the photo, the weather did little to dampen our spirits as we walked through the trail to the old gravel pit.
We scouted out plenty of trees with pretty good potential and settled for 2 of the nicest natural trees I've ever seen. With wreath making in mind, we also gathered several arm loads of cedar, spruce, and fir boughs.
Eggnogs were then served at Arthur's House, putting the cap on a fabulous afternoon. Everyone who has any sort of affinity for Christmas owes it to themselves to take a walk in the woods with a couple of good friends and get themselves a Christmas tree.

I've been wondering about getting a Christmas tree on Hornby. If I'd been smart, I would have have started growing one a year in a free area on our property to they'd be ready once we start living there next year.
I liked you story. Glad you're back blogging.
Just to let you know, Warren has cut down his own Xmas tree for 44 years and still loves to do this every year. We never know what the tree will look like but we are never disappointed.
Also, I don,t know whether I told you or not but I broke my hand on Nov. 12 (going too fast down our driveway to help W. rake leaves) and the cast comes off in 1 week Dec.20th. YAHOO Just in time for Xmas which Peggy is having for W&A, M, and P&R. We will have a noisy good time.
Merry Christmas
Love A. Anne
