Another Leap Forward

It all started with Doug taking out the patio door that divided the kitchen from the extension. There's no turning back now! In goes the bathroom and up goes the pantry. This all has to happen before next winter or we'll be back to sleeping with our hats on!

The second major event this weekend was when Rob went to town on our property with a back hoe resulting in a full transformation. He cleared a giant patch of ground right behind my studio that will eventually house my wood kiln. Stumps were pulled, a trench for the electrical cable for the studio was dug, and the off-cuts from our lumber milling a year ago were moved off the front of the property.

During the pushing and pulling of mounds of earth Rob managed to dig up a number of beautiful big sandstone rocks. With design input from Doug, Rob was able to maneuver the stones into place where the lumber pile once sat. We now have a very impressive stone wall at the entrance to the garden just off the road. It's hard to believe the changes that can happen in a single day with Rob at the helm. In the words of another friend, we were "Robbed". This is the new expression meaning 'you got a lot more than you bargained for and it's all pretty great'!
