It was extremely satisfying to be completely moved, although having some of our favorite plants here is particularly rewarding. I feel a strong string of continuity that comes from transporting years of back breaking work to our new home where I can continue the years 0f back breaking work.
Jeffo and Sarah came by to take some plants for their own garden and helped us dig up some of the larger ones. Ian was also in Vancouver at the time and since we was hitching a ride home with us, he came and dug a bunch of plants as well.
Once at their new home, all of the greenery had to get placed inside the protection of a deer fence. We took some of our larger rocks and build a few terraced beds for some of the larger shrubs. The rest of them just got set inside the fence for now.
I was thinking as I moved all those rocks around that my time would have been better spent flashing the skylights or something. However, now that the garden has been started I can see the potential in the property and I'm stoked every morning when I get up to go to work.

It's Canada. There's supposed to be snow.
Collectively, we spurn your pity, and yet also look longingly at that green stuff.
Canadians.
Enigmatic.
Gardens look great, btw. Is that a mountain laurel? We had one in uxbridge, and I have always wanted one. I think I shall plant it in burl.
Why does Rachelle "crawl into the trailer" after going to the beach? I assume that picture of the plants/bicycle/dolly is taken inside "the trailer". Anne thinks "the trailer" is the "deer fence" surrounding the transplanted plants;but I know better (I think!)Do you actually have that trailer sitting on your property? Off the subject, why not approach UBC and become commissioned to do a study on the
Environmental Effects of Being Born in the City and raised on an Island. I'm referring to the plants, of course. We already know the effects on you guys. Euphoria!!!Unca Warren
A & W: the trailer is my current studio which is beside our house. The plants were transported in a rented cube van. The deer fence is up around the trees on property to protect the tiny garden and the plants not yet in the ground!
