The British Columbia Achievement Foundation just announced the 2007 BC Creative Achievement Award recipients and Rachelle is one of them!
Click here for the official word.
This comes with a great monetary award, amazing exposure, and a pretty swishy award ceremony. I'm so proud of her even though she now makes me call her "Your Excellency".

Congrats your excellency!!!!
Congrats to Your Excellency from Burlington, On. We are so proud to be related to a person of such "creativity". Just think, I have some of your work.

Your Excellency,
Congratulations, I'm so very proud of you and your accomplishments. This will make Daimhin even more thrilled to have a famous Auntie. All the mugs and pieces I have of yours are even more special now. Hornby Island is the real winner in your relocation. Keep up the wonderful work. Mom C.
Aaawe, thanks guys. I'm stoked about the award that will help build my new kiln on Hornby. But I don't actually "make" Doug call me 'Your Excellency'. I prefer 'Your Highness', which then gets shortened to 'hey' or 'hey you' - it's friendlier.
Congratulations hey you! It's so great to read about your inspirations and your love for the environment. Now that your building your dream home so close to nature it seems like it's all just coming together. I am so envious and so proud to be related to such a talented woman. Way to go!
Felicitations Rachelle! We are so proud of you and so thrilled to read your excellent news!!!What an honor! You deserve it so much, Rachelle! How exciting to think of you and your unique, earthy, and distinguished pottery traveling on a new journey...
Rachelle, may you be filled with ever increasing creativity and well-being.
Greetings to Doug and Joyeuses Paques to you two!
Much love,

Congratulations from Ajax/Burlington!
We always knew you had something amazing going on, and it's great that you're receiving recognition. Matched with the house, this has to be an incredibly satisfying year for you.
I see a potential CBC series...."Queen of Hornby"?
When she walks down the beeeeeeach, she smiles at everyonnnnnnneeeee.....
Daimhin and all of us do think Rachelle is pretty special and very famous already, and we are all very proud of our talented artist in the family. Congratulations Rachelle.
Another of many awards yet to come, we are sure.

Thanks guys. Can't wait till Daimhin can start helping me out in the studio. And Doug can't wait for Hannah to help him chop wood. (Don't worry Siobhan, we have all the safety gear.)
Ah, Rachelle ... you're my hero! You put your heart into your work over and over, and you don't give a f*@# what people think, so long as you're doing what you love. And they like it! Go girl!!!
All my best,
Heather
