... And damn near claimed Rusty as well. RustyFromUK showed up last Sunday from... well... the UK! He immediately went out and bought a bike. He rode with me and a few friends on The Shore on Tues, then again with a few other folks on Wed.
He and I went to Whistler on Fri. We rode a whole wack of stuff and when I got sick of trying to keep up on the jump trails like A-Line and Dirt Merchant, I lured him over to the tech side.
This is Rusty riding the rock face on Joyride.

I was just putting my camera away when I heardthe unmistakable sound of tire deflation, and look over to see Rusty flying through the air. I wish I had've kept the camera trained on him. Apparently he didn't think that he needed to slow down before hitting the rest of Joyride and rode into the rock in the left of the photo. Rusty is standing beside the location where he touched down. You can see the disturbed earth beside him.
Here is what the wheel looked like afterwards. Yikes!!
He was a bit shaken up, but otherwise OK. He walked the bike back up to the gondy, downloaded, and found a shop that would build him up a new wheel for tomorrow AM. He's still got 6 days left at Whistler. Better luck tomorrow, mate!
