This morning at work I took my last shower for a few weeks. We're leaving tonight for our paddling trip to Brooks Bay and Cape Scott. Its about 7 hours driving time once we get to Vancouver Island. We'll be staying at Daryl's place tonite, getting an early start tomorrow morning and, hopefully, will be on the water by late afternoon tomorrow.
The area is full of gorgeous and deserted beaches, which is the perfect combination if you ask me. Its remote nature and the challenging paddling conditions keep the large guided groups away. Often self-guided parties are scared away by its remoteness and unprectible weather.
We'll be back at the beginning of August, so look for some blog updates then. Until then, wish us good weather. If you need to get a hold of us, we'll be on the beach in this screenshot from Google Earth. Have a good couple of weeks.
