It's Christmas Eve day and it dawned gloriously with bright sunshine and no wind. It seemed like the perfect day for a walk around Helliwell park. Rachelle's mom, Dorothy, is in town so we were eager to show her one of the jewels of the island.
Right from the parking lot we could hear the sea lions barking, moaning, and growling. Once we got near the island where they hang out, we could see that there were dozens of them on hanging out on the beach. They're huge animals and have a voice that matches perfectly their mass and shape.
We're off to one of our neighbors' house for a Christmas eve dinner, which makes it day 4 of a 5 day marathon of eating, drinking, and partying with good friends. It's been a really busy, but fun holiday so far with no end in sight.
Merry Christmas everyone. Hope all is well and that you have a great few days.

Merry Christmas to everyone at your home. Looks like a beautiful day on Hornby Island. We had a great day with all our kids and grandkids plus Peggy, Randy and all their families. Amber is expecting twins in April and Jen (Steve's wife) is expecting in June. All in all there was 24 adults and kids. VERY NOISY!!!
We did not Marilyn this year for noise. Hope you have a Happy New Year.
Love Aunt Anne
P.S. I received a hiking stick, and thermal gloves from Heather for walking in the woods during our cold winters. I am set.
