Rachelle put a candle in one of her tea bowls which people loved. You can see the bowl at the bottom of the left picture. No one would hold still enough for me to get a good static photo.
There was a couple of hundred people, some fire dancers, a fire breathing person standing in the surf, and lots of other activity. We met most of our Hornby friends on the beach and had a really nice time. It would be great to do it again in the winter time when the tide is way out and it's just the locals here.
There's been a stream of people by our house who have sought her out, not wanting to wait until the next market day. Two days a week at the market and the extra sales that come to the house is making it look like I should quit my job and work constantly on getting her studio built.

Way to go, Rachelle. Your table looks great and lots of people seem to be about. Sounds to me that you need another work party weekend to get things progressing. It must be hard to work all week and then try to work all weekend at home. No time for kayaking this summer, yeh?

Beautiful pictures from the latern walk, together with Rachelle's gorgeous work displaying at the market - made an absolute wonderful update from both of you. Congrats, Rachelle! Doug, perhaps another work party weekend is not a bad idea? ;-)
Take care,
Jill here, that's awesome news about your sales! It's like icing on the cake to find out that moving to the island ended up being an excellent choice for the business! Good for you. Here's hoping it keeps up all year. Your timing is great, using the summer to make your mark and have the word spread before the (I assume) slower winter season. That's fantastic Rachelle.
OK thats it! As displaced Hornbyites we are hereby exercising our flagging rights. The content of this blog is totally inappropriate. No more sexy shots of little trib totally "exposed" under a full moon. it makes me want to quit my job, rip off my clothes and...
go swimming.
Rachelles success was predicted some time ago by swami Lisa but we are totally stoked that it is all coming together.
