Today was an unusual Valentine's Day.
- installed dry wall in pantry
- stepped on water pump breaking off valve
- shouting for help from 'the wife'
- running to shut off water tanks before 5000 gallons of water spilled into the pantry
- mopping up the pantry (together)
- miraculously finding a replacement valve and installing it
- making a quiet little dinner with candied pecans (as I type)
- drinking a bottle of white wine (together)
- sitting on the tiny couch to watch a movie (together)
- thanking Christ we both have a sense of humour when needed.....

Phew! Ah, togetherness...
Now, for the main question: for what were the candied pecans required?
They were for a spinach salad with candies pecans and blue cheese. Alas, there were no soft pears to have with it.
I also did a 20 minute talk on the radio about volunteering... not together.
The pecans?!... Darren, if you have to ask...
Excellent concoction, even without pears. (Hmmm, I wonder if you could make a pear-infused vodka vinaigrette...)
Too bad we can't get the radio station over here. We're totally treated like second-class citizens. I'm gonna Occupy something.
Oh, Rachelle, if you knew my love of pecan pie. Of course, then they wouldn't be candied. Forget everything I said.
How utterly romantic. Good for you guys.
