Full Moon Rising

The weather was clear, the moon was full, and even better, was rising before bedtime. Seemed like a perfect evening for a walk around the Helliwell bluffs.

To the north the sky was fantastic with a localized storm hanging over the Vancouver Island mountains. As is often the case, Hornby was spared the rainshowers and was treated to the gorgeous view, instead.

At 8:25 the moon came up right in the middle of the Salish Sea. Starting as a red sliver, it grew to a dome, then to a floating orange orb. We sat and watched it for an hour or so before continuing around the park loop and heading home.
