Wedding and Moving

There were many elements to the move...

• Bill and Veronica needed to move their stuff to Vancouver
• We needed to get our stuff back to Hornby Island
• Pete needed the new fitness equipment moved from Richmond to Hornby
• Jeffo and Sarah needed to get married

I won't go into the gory details of how it all came together, but it did and it was as beautiful as an A-Team episode. Just like an A-Team episode there were some guest stars:

• Russell and JJ came from my old work to help move Rachelle's kiln, and Tom pitched in as well.
  
• Bob and Suzanne, our awesome neighbours from East Van were in the Queen Charlottes and gave us their place for the weekend.
• Judith organized Rob and Al to help get the kiln and the fitness equipment out of the truck and into the kiln shed.

In exchange for moving the exercise bikes, Pete gave us a whack of cash that he was going to spend to have them shipped up. That pretty much paid for the van rental, which was a huge help especially when you see what BC Ferries dings you for an over height and over length vehicle.

As great as it is to have pretty much everything moved up here and a couch to sit on, the highlight of the weekend was definitely Jeffo and Sarah's wedding. They got married on the lawn outside the Tea House in Stanley Park with 2 cello players to accompany the ceremony.

Both Jeff and Sarah looked resplendent in their wedding finery, freshly coiffed hair, and overwhelmed look.

It was an intimate affair with about 30 people, most of whom were friends or acquaintances. The weather was great, the food and drinks excellent, and everyone was so stoked to be there to see Jeff and Sarah get hitched. They are a perfect couple and two of our favourite people. They both love the outdoors, great food, wine, and conversation. We've shared all of the above with them and always enjoy their humour and wit.

Of course a wedding day is always the day you see people truly shine, and Jeff and Sarah were both glowing. Sarah was absolutely stunning in her elegant lace gown and Jeff cut a dashing figure in his suit and tie - a first (maybe last) for 'Danger Boy'. This wedding dinner was held at the Sequoia Grill in Stanley Park. Sarah made the selections for the fine five-course meal and artisan wines from a small vineyard in Oliver. The cake, made by our friend Caroline Stewart, was a lemon pound cake with a layer of fresh blackberries. Staff at the Sequoia said they'd never seen a wedding cake devoured to the last crumb. Usually guests take a bite to be polite and then leave the rest - certainly never go for seconds.

It was a fantastic day and we felt lucky to have been a part of it. Congratulations Jeff and Sarah!
