Wow! What an amazing day! Bright sunshine and temps to 20C or so. JP, Fawcett and I headed up to Squamish for a day of climbing. Despite the 1PM start we got in an incredible amount of climbing. We started on "The Bottom Line", continued up "Over the Rainbow", then walked over to the Grand Wall to finish on "Merci Me". JP hadn't been climbing in 2 years, so Fawcett and I swapped leaps on all the climbs... well except for the last one, where Fawcett decided he was too hung over and chose to nap on the ledge at the bottom of the climb... still 300 feet off the deck!!
I suspect there were a bunch of people on the more popular routes around Squamish, but where we were, there hardly a soul around.
The stuff we did was all pretty easy, but I still finished with a large feeling of accomplishment. The best feeling was getting my head back into the game early in the season. Climbing is such a mental game. If you feel at ease, then you use less effort to accomplish the goal.
Climbing on the Apron can be pretty heady stuff. Its typically slab climbing where there is few handholds and most footholds are friction only. Protection can be 30 feet between peices, giving the potential for falls up to 60 feet. That's where a solid headspace comes in.
Obviously, I took my new camera along with me and it was a lot of fun! Its small and light and easy to carry anywhere! Can whip it out anytime and operate it with one hand. Click here for some more photos.

The pictures are amazing. Glad you got that camera. It looks so nice and cool and green in Vcvr. Its getting a bit toasty in Az.
Looks like a great day! Nice post.
It's hot enough here that bouldering is an early morning, in the shade activity. Rope climbing is now involves driving an hour and a half north (higher elevation) to climb on north facing walls. It's all good, but I wouldn't mind suddenly being on the Chief.
