A Relaxing Day

gazing westward - toward ski hills yonder
see the yellow flower lower right?

In a rare moment of weakness, Doug agreed to come for a walk with me in Helliwell Park. After a solid three weeks of socializing, wining, dining and Brandy Alexandering, we were due for a little quiet time. And exercise. Not that the nano-second brisk winter swim we had yesterday didn't do it for us - but a 5k walk was really more the ticket. Here Doug is looking dreamily at the distant mountains imagining the snowy peaks he will be skiing down come Friday. I gave Doug seven ski days at Mount Washington and a Note of Imperative Use to go with them. And on a West Coast note of gloat: just below the edge of this cliff was the first yellow blossom of the season... without having had much of a winter, we are already on the doorstep of spring.

Wow!! your winter is almost over and ours has just began. At least this year we have some snow, about a foot, since boxing day and it has stayed since our temp. are around -6 degrees and very windy.
I wish you the best of luck Doug on your skiing expedition and hope you have a swell time (please no more arms or legs wrapped in bandages).
Love A.Anne
